Playing At Your Table

Playing at your table will give you the closest feel for how the fully released game will play. The game will have all of these printable components, and the cards you need to write on will be dry-erase for replayability.

Gatherable Components

  • Grab a deck of cards

    • Place the four kings in the corners of your journal when setting it up so that you know which direction to move the killer during the game
    • Make the game’s deck by removing everything except for A-5 in all four suits
  • Get some pens or pencils for everyone to use

  • Get two playing pieces

    • The Killer represents the specter of murder, I like to use a weapon from Clue
    • The Sleuth represents the influence of the detective, I like to use one of the pawns from Clue

Printable Components

Download and print the playtest kit single-sided style and cut out all the bits like this:

  • Cut out the tokens, suspect cards, clue cards, and answer sheet
  • Cut each of the reference sheets on the line, or fold their pages in half
  • Reprint just the last 3 pages if you want new suspect and clue cards to play again!
